Great Britain&rsquo;s Jemma Reekie produced her second major road mile victory in a week with another searing run to win the Fifth Avenue Mile in New York on Sunday (13).
Seven days after clocking 4:23.25 in D&uuml;sseldorf to set a new European record, she ran a brilliant 4:14, albeit on a course not valid for record purposes.
Nonetheless, it was an excellent win for Reekie as she led home US athletes Josette Andrews (4:17) and Rachel McArthur (4:18).
It continues a brilliant end to the season for the British athlete, who was fifth in the 800m final at the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships and 10th in the mile at the Commonwealth Games.
In the men&rsquo;s race, Great Britain&rsquo;s Jake Heyward was second in 3:46, just one second behind US winner Marco Langon.
