2010 Coaching Summit Series to cover new events

The programme for the 2010 European Athletics Coaching Summit Series, announced today by European Athletics, will cover three event groups that have not been addressed in previous years.  

The series, which is now in its third year, comprises the following three conferences:

• The 4th European Pole Vault and High Jump Conference: Cologne, Germany, on 19-21 March
• 1st European Race Walking Conference: Leeds, England, on 5-7 November
• 1st European Sprints and Hurdles Conference: London, England, on 13-14 November

Each conference will include presentations, practical and training session demonstrations, small group workshops, round table discussions, and plenty of opportunities for the participants to discuss all aspects of their event with colleagues and stars from around the world.

The main aim of the series is to improve top-level performance in the various events by bringing together top athletes, leading coaches and sport scientists at venues where there is specific expertise or a strong tradition in a particular event. The five conferences staged in the first two years attracted more than 350 participants.

All European Athletics Member Federations are eligible for two scholarships, worth CHF 400 each, which can be applied towards the travel and accommodation costs of sending participants to any of the 2010 measures.
