Jimmy Gressier has set another European record. The French athlete, who also own the 5km record on the road (13:12), added the indoor 5000m at the BU David Hemery Valentine International in Boston, United States on Friday (14).
Gressier chased Grant Fisher to a world record of 12:44.09, six days after he clocked a new 3000m world record of 7:22.91 in New York. Gressier dug deep and placed second in a European record of 12:54.92*.
The 2019 European U23 gold medallist over 5000m and 10,000m also set a new French record last week of 7:30.18* over 3000m in the slipstream of Fisher.
Gressier's next goal will be the inaugural European Running Championships in Brussels-Leuven on 12-13 April when he is planning to contest the 10km, an event in which he used to hold the European record with 27:07.
