Seven days of world-class athletics are about to get underway, with Europe’s best athletes heading to the Alexander Stadium in pursuit of gold and a place in the history books.

Keely Hodgkinson: 800m
Having kicked off 2026 by breaking the indoor world record, Kelly will be the star attraction as she defends her 800m crown against the in-form Audrey Werro, and Dutch sensation Femke Broeders-Bol.
Mondo Duplantis: Pole Vault
World record-holder and Olympic champion, Mondo has transformed his event into a must-see spectacle. Having already broken the world record an astonishing 15 times, could he make it 16 in Birmingham?
Matt Hudson-Smith: 400m
Having grown up training at the Alexander Stadium, Wolverhampton’s finest is back on his home track. Olympic silver medalist and European record-holder in the 400m, Matt is primed to deliver a memorable performance.
Amy Hunt: 100m, 200m & 4x100m
World silver medalist in the 200m, the British star is set for a busy home championship. Fans will have plenty of chances to see Amy in action as she tackles both the individual 100m and 200m, plus the 4x100m relay.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen: 5000m
Jakob made global headlines at these championships eight years ago, winning gold in both the 1500m and 5000m at the age of just 17. With flair and unpredictability never far away, the Norwegian goes in hunt of his 15th European title in Birmingham.
