Drawn in lane six Hungary’s Boglarka Takacs proved to be the quickest in the women’s 100m, for a career-best win at Madrid 2025 on Friday (27), setting a national record and championship best performance.

The Madrid 2025 European Athletics Team Championships 1st Division is being streamed live on the European Athletics website courtesy of the Eurovision Sport Platform.

Poland’s Ewa Swoboda, the winner in Silesia two years ago, who kicked fastest from the blocks. The current European silver medallist signed the second swiftest reaction time (0.128) to lead the event for the opening 70 metres.

But the 23-year-old Hungarian overtook Swoboda over the closing stages to romp home unopposed in 11.06 (0.0).  The Pole, who was making her season’s debut, took the runner-up spot in 11.13 while the third place overall went for the winner of the B race, Minke Bisschops of the Netherlands, who ran a lifetime best of 11.17 (+0.2).

Britain's Amo-Dadzie wins men's race

In the men’s event, Great Britain’s Eugene Amo-Dadzie’s victory lived up to the expectations, as the only sprinter who had having ducked under the 10.00 barrier this season.

The 33-year-old Briton went off like a bullet helped by the quickest reaction time of the eight contenders (0.136). 

By halfway, Amo-Dadzie led narrowly over the current European 4x100 silver medallist Elvis Afrifa of the Netherlands and Henrik Larsson of Sweden, the Briton holding off the late challenge of his chasers to grab a fine win in 10.07 ahead of Afrifra, who set a PB of 10.10 and Larsson, who set a season’s best of 10.11.

The Swede was ranked fourth place overall since Poland’s Oliwer Wdowik signed a massive PB of 10.10 – previous of 10.21 - in the B race.
