World renowned coaches such as Sharon Hannan of Australia, who coached hurdler Sally Pearson to a gold medal and an Olympic record at London 2012, Toni Minichiello, who guided Jessica Ennis to the coveted heptathlon gold medal in London and Jama Aden, coach to 1500m gold medallist Tafouki Makhloufi, will be among the keynote speakers at the prestigious International Festival of Athletics Coaching (IFAC) conference in Glasgow on the weekend of 26-28 October.

Minichiello's successful approach to coaching will form the cornerstone of his closing keynote and his experiences in developing Ennis's talent into an Olympic gold will be showcased in the International Panel on 'Developing Talented Teenagers to Senior Successes' which will take place on Sunday 28 October.

Irishman Stephen Maguire will also address delegates after his arrival as the new 'Director of Coaching' for scottishathletics.

The magnificent new Commonwealth Arena in the city will host the practical sessions during the during the two-day conference, which is aimed for coaches of hurdlers, sprinters and endurance runners.

International jumps coach Frank Attoh will lead practical workshops on the 'Horizontal Jumps' and 'Plymoterics & Conditioning for the Jumps.'

When a successful career as a triple jumper ended prematurely due to injury, Attoh moved his talents to coaching and has worked with an endless list of jumping greats, such as Trecia Smith, Ashia Hansen, Mary Berkeley, Connie Henry, Nadia Williams, Larry Achike, Francis Agyepong and Greg Rutherford.

Attoh's current coaching exploits include Yamilé Aldama and Chris Tomlinson. Attoh is the long-term coach of the current World indoor triple jump Champion. Tomlinson who has previously claimed a World indoor silver medal and European bronze medal for the long jump, finished 6th in London in a very close long jump final where he missed out on a medal by 9cm.
