With the upcoming Prague 2015 European Athletics Indoor Championships in March, the local organising committee have prepared a special Czech athletics exhibition available to the public from 11 December to 15 March.
The exhibition is in the Harfa Gallery situated right by the O2 arena that will host the championships from 6-8 March.
The exhibition maps the history of Czech athletics from the end of the World War II until present day.
“We want to show that athletics has a lot of important personalities and to resurrect the power and achievements which was brought by those athletes to the Czech Republic,' said Prague 2015 local organising committee chief Libor Varhaník.

“We hope the exhibition will raise awareness of the rich and successful history of Czech athletics, and it also corresponds with the championships motto – Legends of the past, stars of the present.”
Visitors will discover photos of the Olympic, world and European champions and other interesting documents from major athletics events.
Also rare artifacts from athletes’ private collections, and other sports equipment and tools will be available at the exhibition.
“One of the most interesting artifacts is, for instance, the complete medal collection of Helena Fibingerová, the record wooden discus of Imrich Bugár or the shot used by Ji…™í Skobla, Remigius Machura and Jaroslav Brabec,' said Tomáš Janku, executive director of the event.
'One of the most unique pieces are the spikes shoes from Miloslava Rezková from the 1968 Olympic Games and a signed javelin from Jan Zelezny.'

“We also want to use the exhibition area as the meeting point for athletes, Czech athletic legends and fans. A kids' athletics zone will also be made available and they will be introduced to the different athletics events. Fans will be able to purchase all European Athletics Indoor Championships related merchandise there as well,” said Helena Fibingerová, director of the Ambassadors Project.
