Hunting Silverware: Amy Hunt’s golden week at Alexander Stadium rolled on as she captured the 200m crown, fending off Rhasidat Adeleke and Dina Asher-Smith to keep her four-gold championship dream alive with the women’s and mixed 4x100m relays to come. 

 

Delight for English, from Ireland, in England: It was a historic night as Mark English won Ireland’s first-ever gold medal at a European Championships with a tactical masterclass in the 800m. Backed by a roaring Irish contingent inside Alexander Stadium, English’performance sparked memorable celebrations. 

 

Decathlon Drama: After two days and ten grueling events concluding with a brutal 1500m, Germany’s Leo Neugebauer threw himself over the finish line to and claim the title of European’s best multi-eventer. 

 

Field Event Fireworks: Italy's Dariya Derkach leapt to triple jump gold, Switzerland's Angelica Moser cleared 4.80m to retain her pole vault crown, and Slovenia's Kristjan Čeh smashed the championship record with a monstrous throw to dominate the men's discus. 

 

Chasing Gold: After a tough, humid race complete with drama and a heavy fall, Germany’s Gesa Felicitas Krause surged clear of the field to claim the European steeplechase title in fine style. 

 

What's to come on Day 5?

 

Clash of the Titans: All three big hitters’  Keely Hodgkinson, Audrey Werro & Femke Broeders-Bo navigated yesterday’s semi-finals, albeit with a slice of drama after Werro was tripped before then being advanced to the final Billed as the race of the championships, it’s not one to miss. 

 

Men’s 200m: The quickest man in Europe this year, Britain’s medal hopes sit with Zharnel Hughes as the fastest man in British history looks to add yet another British sprint gold at the championships. 

 

Heptathlon: The heptathlon crown is wide openwith heavy-hitters in the field including Swiss world leader Annik Kälin, home favorite and multi-world medalist Katarina Johnson-Thompson, and Ireland’s newly-crowned Commonwealth Games champion, Kate O’Connor. 

 

Double Trouble: Fresh from defending her 5000m crown earlier in the week, Italy's distance queen Nadia Battocletti returns to the track with her sights on becoming the first ever woman to retain both the 5000m and 10,000m titles at consecutive European Championships. 

 

Field Finals: Friday’s field schedule features a double-header, with the men’s high jump first taking centre stage as crowd-favourite Joel Clarke-Khan goes for Britain. Shortly after, Europe’s finest discus throwers take to the circle, with the potential for the Birmingham crowd to witness throws in excess of a whopping 70 metres.
