The newly formed European Athletics Education Commission met for its first working session in Frankfurt, Germany, over the weekend.

Chaired by Council member Frank Hensel, the commission reviewed European Athletics’ educational activities in 2011, discussed the overall education philosophy and concept for the period 2012-2015 and developed recommendations for 2012, which will be put forward to the Executive Committee.

Members taking part in the two-day session were European Athletics Council member Jonas Egilsson, Galia Puhaleva of Bulgaria, Marton Gyulai of Hungary, Nick Davis of Ireland, Samuel Lopes of Portugal and Council member Vadim Zelichenok. Also in attendance was Vice President Jean Gracia.

The European Athletics education measures already confirmed for 2012 are the Communications Managers Seminar, 29-30 March, and the CEO Conference, 20-22 April.

The conferences in the European Athletics Coaching Summit Series will be confirmed next week.
