European Athletics Athletes Commission Member Stefan Holm, the Swedish High Jump legend, mingled and chatted with athletes in the programme's tent at the stadium during the 20th European Athletics Junior Championships.
The multiple Olympic and world champion briefed the generation next of European athletics about the importance of anti-doping education in order to achieve sporting excellence.
The activities, aimed at spreading awareness about anti-doping, include a one-minute online quiz and access to an educational tool to learn more about anti-doping, with participants having the chance to take part in a lottery where they could win event passes for the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona, Spain, to be held from 26 July to August 1, 2010.
The Novi Sad winners were Christiane Klopsch of Germany, Dieter Vanstreels of Belgium and Adam Lisiak of Poland, with each of the athletes receiving two event passses on stage at the final banquet on Sunday evening.
The Anti-Doping Education Programme activities are aimed to help athletes gain better understanding of doping-related issues and their own responsibilities.
The programme is organised on the sidelines of every edition of European Athletics U23 Championships and European Athletics Junior Championships in co-operation with the IAAF, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
