European U20 champion Willem Renders has been named as the sole Belgian selection for the 2026 World Cross Country Championships taking place in Tallahassee on 10 January.
The 18-year-old won a thrilling men&rsquo;s U20 race at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Lagoa on 14 December also leading Belgium to team gold, adding to the 5000m title he took earlier in the year at the Tampere 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships.

Apeldoorn is one of the greenest cities in the Netherlands and among the largest municipalities in Gelderland. It is a mid-size city with a population of approximately 161,000. Apeldoorn has a charming and lively inner city and a young, sports-minded population.
