Germany have confirmed their team for the European Athletics Off-Road Championships, including Tampere 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships 5000m bronze medallist, Julia Ehrle.

The women’s vertical team will be led by Laura Hottenrott, who placed ninth at the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships and competed in the marathon at the Paris Olympics, as she competes in the Vertical race.

She’ll be joined by Hanna Grober and Madlen Kappeler, who will also both compete in the Classic Up and Down, in the 8.9km race with a 1,280m incline.

While Johanna Ehrenklau and Hannah Marquard will race in the Trail event which consists of 52km with a 2,450m ascent/ descent.

In the women’s U20 team, Ehrle looks to follow her World mountain and trail running U20 title with a gold in Slovenia as she competes in both the Vertical and Classic Up and Down.

In the Vertical race she’ll be joined by Gloria Herold, who will be making her debut for Germnay, and Hannah Losel who are 18 and 19-years-old as they look to put out a strong team.

The men’s squad sees Lukas Ehrle return to compete in the Vertical and Up and Down races after an injury, having won two medals at the 2024 European Off-Road Championships.

Julius Ott will also start in both races as the German’s look to show dominance in the mountains.

German Champion Tobias Ulbrich and German Championship runner-up Dominik Notz, who will also start in the Up and Down race, complete the Vertical team.
