Will Barnicoat, who has won three individual age-group titles at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships, has also been named on the British team for the 5000m alongside Ed Bird who won bronze in the 3000m at the World Athletics U20 Championships last year.
Former European U18 champions Nia Goodison-Wedderburn and Faith Akinbileje - who are ranked first and third on the European U23 100m list with 11.16 and 11.19 respectively - are also expected to challenge for another continental title along with four-time European U20 medallist Success Eduan, who anchored Great Britain to victory in the 4x100m at the World Relays, in the 200m.
Other European U23 leaders to be named on the British team include Emily Newnham and Jake Minshull who have improved to 54.49 and 48.88 in the women’s and men’s 400m hurdles respectively this season.
