The 10,000m world champion, Jimmy Gressier, took gold at the French 10km championships in Troyes in 27:47.
He also secured the qualifying standard for the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships alongside claiming his fourth national title in the distance.
Gressier took the win nearly a minute ahead of his next competitor, Simon Beard, in his first race on the road over the distance since 2024.

His time in Troyes puts him joint 26th in Europe this year and still stands a minute behind his countryman Yann Schrub who leads the rankings.
Though his goal for the championships, was to secure qualification for Birmingham 2026, and that he has.Â
The women’s race was won by 19-year-old Louisa Bailly who surprised the field with a PB of 32:34 ahead of former European U20 medallist Mathilde Senechal in 33:14 and Sarah Hasni 33:15.
