The prestigious American publication Track and Field News - 'The Bible of the Sport' - is currently posting many of its famous interviews with the world's greatest athletes on its website, particularly those with a historic interest from the 1970s through to the 1990s.
European Athletics is happy to provide a link to one they conducted with Norway's former World and European 10,000m champion Ingrid Kristiansen in June 1989, which can be read here.
Kristiansen is often described as one of the best women's distance runners of the last 30 years.
As well as running a women's marathon world best of 2:21:06 in the 1987 London marathon, a time which was unbeaten for almost 13 years and winning a bronze medal in the inaugural European Athletics Championships women's marathon in 1982, Kristiansen was a formidable track runner in the 1980s and set world records for the 5000m and 1000m.
She won 10,000m titles on the track at the 1986 European Athletics Championships and then the 1987 World Championships.
The 2012 European Athletics Championships will be held in Helsinki, Finland, between 27 June – 1 July.
