World champion Josh Kerr of Great Britain got his first 1500m victory of the season at the Grand Slam Track meeting in Miami on Friday (2), getting the better of his fellow Paris Olympic medallists, USA duo Cole Hocker and Yared Nuguse.

Kerr, silver medallist in Paris last year, edged clear down the home straight to triumph in 3:34.51 ahead of Paris bronze medallist Nuguse in 3:34.65 and Olympic champion Hocker with 3:34.79.

Elsewhere, European Indoor finalist Andrew Coscoran of Ireland took a career-highlight win in the men’s 3000m in 8:17.56. Second was USA’s world indoor record holder Grant Fisher in 8:17.60 and third went to European indoor silver medallist George Mills of Great Britain in 8:17.77.
