World and European U20 heptathlon champion Jana Koščak will bow out of the age group with a world record attempt at the pentathlon on 28 December.

The 19-year-old Croatian, who won gold in the heptathlon at the Tampere 2025 European Athletics U20 Championships in August, equalling her national record of 6293 points, will make another record bid in Zagreb.

The existing world U20 pentathlon record is 4542, set by Ukraine’s Alina Shukh in 2017 in Tallinn. Fresh from warm weather training in South African, Koščak will be seeking a big performance to launch her towards the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun from 20-22 March.

Koščak’s existing Croatian national record is 4478 points.
