The Frenchman has headed to Miami for a training camp, but it will not be all about workouts and tough drills.
On Saturday week Lemaitre - still only 22 though it seems he has been around for much longer - will run the 100m at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
He will face top Americans including Justin Gatlin and Ryan Bailey, and the test it will provide should be interesting, based on how well the past few months have gone.
Lemaitre, who retained his crown as 100m at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki last summer, said: 'I have not stopped since the winter, I have not missed a session despite the rain and cold.
'I do not know where I am but we did tests on 80m, 150m and 250m and the coach told me he had never timed such a fast times, especially at the 150m.'
Lemaitre is trained by Pierre Carraz and speaking to L'equipe, the French star added: 'My coach would be satisfied with something between 10.00-10.10m (at the relays), but it depends on the conditions.'
How he performs could tell him a great deal in the way he might plan his summer.
Even though he was the European champion at the distance, Lemaitre opted out of the 100m at the Olympic Games in London a few weeks after Helsinki because he did not think he was high enough in the rankings of those in the field.
He was 10th in the listings and Lemaitre decided instead to run the 200m at the Games where he finished sixth in 20.19 as Jamaica's Usain Bolt won in 19.32.
He will run a few major Grand Prix 100m races ahead of the World Championships in Moscow, particularly in Monaco and London, but should be one of the stars of the show over the distance at the European Team Championships in Gateshead in June.
When he returns from Miami, he will run the 200m in St. Etienne on May 5 and 100m in Villeneuve d´Ascq two weeks later before the 150m on the streets of Manchester in the Great CityGames on May 25.
