The prestigious Balkan Athletics Championships, taking place in Volos, Greece, plus a World Athletics Continental Tour meeting from Austria will be streamed live on European Athletics platforms this week. Here's our guide on what's on and how to watch this week...

Raiffeisen Austrian Open Eisenstadt (World Athletics Continental Tour Silver)

Newly-crowned European U23 champion Enzo Diessl will return to action in the men’s 110m hurdles in his home country following his golden exploits in Bergen 2025, at the Raiffeisen Austrian Open Eisenstadt on Wednesday. 

His opposition includes multiple African champion Antonio Alkana and Swiss multi-eventer Simon Ehammer, a world indoor gold medallist in the heptathlon. 

There will be several more Austrian stars at the World Athletics Continental Tour silver meeting, including European women’s javelin champion Victoria Hudson and European silver medallist  Lukas Weißhaidinger in men’s discus respectively.

Another event to watch is the women’s 100m hurdles featuring Poland’s former European champion Pia Skrzyszowska and Ireland’s Sarah Lavin, fourth in this year’s Apeldoorn 2025 European Indoor Championships.

Olympic and World 4x100m medallists Jamaican Christania Williams (Jamaica), Alexandra Burghardt and Rebecca Haase (Germany) and USA’s Maia McCoy are set to clash in the women’s 100m.

Balkan Athletics Championships, Volos, Greece

Evening sessions from the Balkan Athletics Championships will be covered live on the European Athletics YouTube channel. A full preview of the two day annual event will appear on the European Athletics website in the coming days. 

The competition will feature teams from 22 nations. The host Greece team includes Olympic, world and long jump champion Miltiadis Tentoglou, European javelin gold medallist Elina Tzenkgo and Olympic pole vault bronze medallist Emmanouill Karalis.

Serbia include World and European long jump gold medallist Ivana Španović and exciting high jump talent Angelina Topić, fresh from winning gold at the Bergen 2025 European U23 Championships.
