As European track and road champions over the same distance, Dominic Lobalu and Yann Schrub provide an intriguing matchup at the Corrida de Houilles 10km in France on 21 December.
Swiss runner Lobalu took 10,000m gold in 28:00:32 at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships, where he edged our Schrub into silver by 0.16.
But the French athlete got a measure of revenge when he triumphed on the roads 10 months later, winning 10km gold at the inaugural European Running Championships in Brussels-Leuven, a race in which Lobalu dropped out.
Jimmy Gressier won last year’s Corrida de Houilles, which has a rich tradition stretching back to 1972.
The women's field is headed by Kazakhstan’s 2022 world 3000m steeplechase champion Norah Jeruto and European 10km bronze medallist Klara Lukan of Slovenia.
