Five-time European champion Maud Mathys will lead the Swiss challenge at the European Off-Road Championships in Annecy, France on 31 May-2 June.

The remarkable 37 year old won both the classic hill race and the up and down race at the inaugural edition of these championships two years ago in El Paso on the island of La Palma, Spain, adding to three titles previously won at the European Mountain Running Championships.

An off-road icon, she is a four-time winner of Switzerland’s famed Sierre-Zinal mountain running race and a former champion at the Marathon di Mont Blanc, so has pedigree in the French Alps.

Also in the team is Dominik Rolli who took silver in the senior men’s classic hill race and bronze in the up and down race two years ago.
