More than 103,000 schoolchildren from all parts of Norway ran in what can be considered as the world’s largest relay on Thursday.
Over 3,000 schoolchildren were present at the single Bislett Arena in Oslo while the rest of the participants ran simultaneously in 273 other stadiums throughout the country.
The 21st edition of the event was organized by the Norwegian Athletics Federation with a total of 1.3 million children having taken part in the history of the event.
Thursday was also the occasion for the disabled to demonstrate their abilities in a prestigious relay with two of the Norwegian gold medal heroes from the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, Marit Bjoergen and Kjetil Jansrud, who were shown how it feels to be disabled.
Bjoergen made laps over the track in a racing wheelchair, while Jansrud ran blindfolded and was assisted by a guide.
