The Rieti 2026 local organising committee presented the 2026 European Athletics U18 Championships project at the EA Congress in Batumi, in front of key figures, including European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov, CEO Christian Milz, and delegates from many European federations.
Representing the organizing committee were Federico Rinaldi, General Secretary of Rieti 2026, and Sara Mei, Head of Accommodation. FIDAL President Stefano Mei lauded the clarity and professionalism of the presentation and called the Rieti 2026 structure solid, competent, and deeply rooted in its long tradition of passion for athletics.
Rinaldi outlined the Championships' operational plan, focusing on logistics, transportation, and hospitality. He emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between the organising team, local institutions, and the wider region, making everyone feel part of Rieti 2026's mission to serve the European athletics community.
Sara Mei presented the accommodation strategy, outlining hotel arrangements, athlete services and logistical support. The Rieti 2026 team made a strong impression, confirming robust planning and project momentum. The next milestone is European Athletics' official site visit, scheduled for November 10–12, when representatives will tour venues, hotels, and facilities for the Championships.
