21-year-old long jumpers Bozhidar Saraboyukov and Plamena Mitkova have been named as the Bulgarian Athletes of the Year for 2025.
Saraboyukov won men’s long jump gold at the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships and silver at the Bergen 2025 European Athletics U23 Championships, earning him a finalist berth as one of the men’s Rising Stars at the European Athletics Golden Tracks annual awards.
Mitkova, winner of the female accolade for the fourth year in a row, placed fourth at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing.
