European Athletics Partner and Preferred Supplier Polanik will provide 12 of the 24 official implements for the throwing events at the forthcoming Banska Bystrica 2024 European Athletics U18 Championships, which will be held between 18-21 July.

At least one product from Polanik will be available to every thrower in each of the eight throws titles being contested in the Slovak city later this month.

Not surprisingly, the Polish company’s implements have been in the hands of many medallists at the previous three editions of the European Athletics U18 Championships as well as at a myriad of continental and global championships since 1986, when Polanik products first appeared on the World Athletics ‘approved list’.

In recent times, Polanik products have been developed further in conjunction with Olympic champions and Polish athletics icons such as Szymon Ziółkowski, Anita Wlodarczyk and Tomasz Majewski.

It was the latter that help Polanik produce their OLD SCHOOL shot put range, of which two 3kg models – with different diameters – are available to the girls in Banska Bystrica while another while two 5kg models will be available to the boys.

“The competition steel shots have been designed in cooperation with the outstanding athlete and Olympic champion Tomasz Majewski, and manufactured with high accuracy, are perfectly balanced and have optimal dimensions,” boasts Polanik company literature.

“OLD SCHOOL shot puts are the perfect combination of the long experience of Polanik company in producing throwing implements and the irreplaceable knowledge of shot put competition of the great champion Tomasz Majewski.”

Polish U18 indoor shot put champion to Iga Wysoczyńska, who has a personal best of 15.84m with the 3kg shot which she set last month and who has also qualified in the discus, will be one of many athletes who will be using Polanik OLD SCHOOL shots in Banska Bystrica

Wysoczyńska is taking her own personal implement from Polanik to the championships – which is allowed under the competition rules – as she aims to become the first Polish female shot putter to win a medal at the European Athletics U18 Championships.
