It’s been a week of records upon records in the indoor season, but our European athletes have also been giving us insights into their lives online, so here is a snapshot of what they have been up to.
Ingebrigtsen out after achillies surgery
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has revealed he has had surgery on his achilles after years of injuries impacting his training and anility to compete.
The injury came back a few weeks ago yet again, which is what prompted the 1500m European record holder to take such serious action.
Warholm perfects his spikes design
arsten Warholm may hold the 400m hurdles world record, three world golds, five European golds, and an Olympic gold, but now he may have innovated spikes.
Using your spike to open a bottle is certainly efficient, Warholm certainly doesn’t want to waste any time!
Battocletti carries the Olympic torch
The Italian icon is yet to compete indoors this year, but she was one of the select individuals chosen to carry the Olympic flame through Italy on its way to Milano Cortina for the Winter Olympics.
She carried the torch through Trento, alongside other notable Italian athletes, as part of the 53rd leg on the 29 January.
Kokhan for Super Bowl 2027 halftime show?
Music is as essential a training equipment as weights, spikes and implements for many athletes, and for the Kokhan family that seems very true.
Mykhaylo Kokhan, Rome 2024 European Athletics Championships and Olympics bronze medallist, took to it upon himself to provide the music for Milaniya Kokhan, his sister, while they were in the gym. We look forward to seeing where his singing career may go!
Training ASMR with Kambundji
The reigning 100m hurdles world champion took us along to her training to hear the sounds of an athlete at work.
Ditija Kambundji is yet to compete indoors yet this year but as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait!
Wedding venue viewings
Menno Vloon, Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics indoor championship pole vault champion, and Priscilla van Oorschot, 800m runner for the Netherlands, have found their wedding venue!
The pair got engaged at the end of September 2025 on an island in Bacuit Bay, Philippines, and are documenting their wedding planning journey as well as their athletic careers.
Pro athlete or pro editor?
Zak Skinner, 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships T13 long jump and 100m champion, has created a great optical illusion through some fantastic editing.
The Brit often combines his passion for content creation with his own training, creating incredible edits and tricks of the eye.
Thiam back like she never left
After a disappoint world championships in Tokyo last year that saw Nafi Thiam withdraw from competition after the long jump, the three-time Olympic champion has given as a small look into her training.
Thiam’s javelin is a very strong event for her in the heptathlon and she’s shown that her beauty in throwing hasn’t got lost along the way.
Keely Kardashian? Sorry Hodgkinson
In her return from warm weather training Keely Hodgkinson had based herself back home in Manchester but found time to take a quick trip to Paris for a Skims X Nike event.
The start studded event was full glamour, with Britain’s queen of the track meeting the reality tv icon Kim Kardashian, who founded Skims.
