European U23 cross country champion Phoebe Anderson is among the 10km selections made by Great Britain for the European Running Championships in Brussels-Leuven on 12-13 April.

Ten athletes were named on Friday (28) joining five earlier selections made in the half marathon and marathon events.

Anderson, who triumphed in the women’s U23 race in Antalya in December, heads a six-strong women’s team that also includes Beth Potter, the 2023 world champion and Paris 2024 Olympic champion in triathlon.

Record breaking Leonard selected

The men’s 10km team is headed by Rory Leonard, 10,000m gold medallist at the Espoo 2023 European U23 Championships. Leonard set a new British 10km record (27:38) in Valencia in January.

Entries are still open for the inaugural European Running Championships, where recreational runners will have the opportunity to run with the elite athletes. Limited places are still available across 10km, half marathon and marathon disciplines.
