Five nominees have been selected for both the women's and men's categories based purely on performances achieved throughout the month of August.
A month which included the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships was packed with incredible performances.
The deadline for voting is 8 September at 23:59 CEST and the winners will be announced across the European Athletics social media channels soon afterwards.
Last month’s winners were Great Britain's Josh Kerr and Czechia's Linda Botková. The five nominees are listed below in alphabetical order with each athlete's key achievements listed.
