European indoor high jump champion Oleh Doroshchuk equalled the world lead on home soil at the Vitaly Lonskiy Memorial street event in Berdychiv, Ukraine on Saturday (27).
After narrowly avoiding an early exit with a third-time clearance at 2.24m, Doroshchuk went on to clear 2.30m on his first attempt before equalling the world lead with a second time clearance at 2.33m, his best ever mark outdoors.
Doroshchuk concluded his competition with three attempts at a prospective outright lifetime best of 2.35m.
Doroshchuk won by a clear margin from Dmytro Nikitin (2.24m) and Vadym Kravchuk (2.21m). Former world and European champion Bohdan Bondarenko cleared 2.10m to finish fifth.
Olympic bronze medallist Iryna Gerashchenko continued her return from competition after maternity leave by clearing 1.92m for victory in the women’s high jump.
Tuthill defeats Włodarczyk in Poznań
Ireland’s Nicola Tuthill achieved a notable victory at the Czesław Cybulski Memorial in Poznan, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting, on Sunday (28).
Tuthill improved her lifetime best to 72.73m for a notable victory over world record-holder and four-time European champion Anita Wlodarczyk with 71.53m.
Other highlights included world silver medallist Maria Zodzik from Poland clearing 1.97m in the high jump and Great Britain’s Lina Nielsen winning the 400m hurdles in 54.73.
The Meeting International Troyes Aube, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting, on Sunday was highlighted by a fast men’s 1500m won by Spain’s Ignacio Fontes in 3:33.42 ahead of Pierrik Jocteur-Monrozier (3:34.47 PB) with Santtu Heikkinen fourth in a Finnish record of 3:34.89.
European silver medallist Charles Dobson narrowly defeated Qatar’s Ammar Ismail Yahia Ibrahim in the men’s 400m. Both were timed at 44.86 with Dobson winning by 0.006.
Portugal’s Fatoumata Diallo won the women’s 400m hurdles in 54.52 while France’s Olympic fourth-placer Clement Ducos continued his comeback with victory in the men’s 400m hurdles in 49.22 over European silver medallist Alessandro Sibilio in 49.64.

2022 European silver medallist Bo Kanda Lita Baehre from Germany cleared a season’s best of 5.82m for victory at the pole vault-only meeting in Hof, a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event, on Saturday.
Norway’s Kitty Friele Faye won the women’s competition with a 4.60m clearance.
After indifferent form in recent weeks, three-time world champion Daniel Ståhl returned to form with a winning mark of 68.77m in the discus at the Swedish Team Championships in Karlstad on Saturday.
World indoor champion Gerson Balde won the long jump at the Portuguese Club Championships in Coimbra on Saturday with 8.14m.
2025 European indoor silver medallist Maksymilian Szwed broke the 45 second-barrier for the first time in the 400m in Opole on Saturday, clocking 44.94 to set a Polish U23 record.
