Recently crowned European champions including Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Nadia Battocletti, Audrey Werro, Nadine Visser and Romell Glave will be in action across three live streamed events this week.

The heavy throws will garner the attention of the home crowd with Axelina Johansson and Fanny Roos both in action in the women’s shot put. 

They will face strong international opposition from Canada’s Sarah Mitton and Portugal’s Auriol Dongmo, both of whom have broken the 20 metre-barrier during their careers and are both former world indoor champions.

European bronze medallist Vanessa Kamga and Wictor Petersson also headline the fields in the women’s discus and men’s shot put respectively. 

Track action highlights include the men’s 400m hurdles featuring Carl Bengström who holds the stadium record at 48.97 and the women’s 400m featuring France’s Isabelle Black who has improved to 50.47 in 2026.

In the middle and long distance events, 2024 European 800m silver medallist Gabriela Gajanova from Slovakia takes on Swedish youngster Carmen Cernjul in the women’s 1000m while Canada’s 2020 Olympic 5000m silver medallist Mohammed Ahmed is among the standout entrants in the men’s 3000m.

World record-holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh from Ukraine competes in the women’s high jump on Sunday afternoon. 

Joining her will be the likes of reigning European U20 champion Lilianna Batori from Hungary, Czechia’s Michaela Hruba and Charity Hufnagel from the United States.

The men will take centre stage the day before with the legendary Qatari Mutaz Essa Barshim among those who will be competing.

Recently crowned European champion Audrey Werro headlines the women’s 800m in Bellinzona. 

Other Swiss stars in action include fellow European champion Angelica Moser who faces Americans Sandi Morris and Hana Moll in the women’s pole vault and world champion Ditaji Kambundji who faces world bronze medallist Grace Stark and European champion Nadine Visser in the 100m hurdles. 

Recently crowned European 100m champion Romell Glave from Great Britain faces a world class line-up including Canada’s Andre de Grasse, South Africa’s Akani Simbine and Nigeria’s Kayinsola Ajayi in the men's 100m while European indoor champion Attila Molnar from Hungary faces a field including world indoor champion Christopher Morales Williams from Canada in the men's 400m.

European 5000m and 10,000m champion Nadia Battocletti drops down in distance to contest the 1500m in which she will face 2018 and 2022 European champion Laura Muir and double European indoor medallist Salome Afonso from Portugal.

World record-holder Ja’Kobe Tharp will compete in the 110m hurdles and fellow world record-holder Mykolas Alekna goes head-to-head with three-time world champion Daniel Ståhl in the men's discus.
