The date is set! Femke Bol will make her first competitive appearance in the 800m on 8 February at the Meeting Metz Moselle, one of six World Athletics Indoor Tour events to be streamed live on the European Athletics channels this week.
Plus the European Champion Clubs Cup Cross Country from Albufeira, Portugal bringing together the cream of continental club running.
Before that, Emmanouil Karalis will take centre stage at home at the Fly Athens pole vault meeting while the focus of attention will be on the high jump in Udine and Hustopece, the latter featuring both 2022 world champion Eleanor Patterson from Australia and 2025 European indoor champion Oleh Doroshchuk.
And in addition to Metz on Sunday, there will also be live streamed events from Kaunas and Dortmund this weekend.

Last year’s European U20 champions Elijah Pasquier from France and Lilianna Batori from Hungary feature on the entry-lists for the high jump-only event in Udine.

The men’s line-up also features 2023 European U20 champion Melwyn Lycke Holm from Sweden along with Olympic eighth-placer and last year's winner Tihomir Ivanov from Bulgaria and veteran Bahamian Donald Thomas.
Incidentally, Pasquier would have just celebrated his one-year anniversary when Thomas won the world high jump title in Osaka all the way back in 2007.

Can Emmanouil Karalis produce the first 6.00m-plus vault of the season in front of his home fans in Athens? The prospect of a home audience has often inspired Karalis who cleared 6.08m at the Greek Championships last year to become the fourth highest vaulter in history.
Karalis will face a strong US contingent in Athens including 2020 Olympic silver medallist Chris Nilsen and Jacob Wooten. France’s Thibaut Collet is also due to compete, although he did have to retire with a hamstring injury in his last competition in Caen on Friday evening.

Continuing her comeback from maternity leave after a 1.90m clearance this weekend, Olympic bronze medallist Iryna Herashchenko from Ukraine is due to face a strong line-up featuring 2022 world champion Eleanor Patterson from Australia and Greece’s Tatiana Gousin, the winners in Hustopece in 2024 and 2023 respectively.
Herashchenko’s teammate Oleh Doroshchuk, who won the European indoor title in Apeldoorn last year, will be in action in the men’s high jump.

Doroshchuk takes on a strong field including European indoor bronze medallist Matteo Sioli from Italy, Shelby McEwen from the United States and world indoor champion Sang-Hyeok Woo from South Korea. Woo will be targeting his third victory in Hustopece.
Cosma Indoor Cup 2026 (World Athletics Indoor Tour Challenger)

One of the highlights of the Cosma Indoor Cup 2026 in Kaunas will be the women’s 400m.
Home favourite and Lithuanian record-holder Modesta Morauskaite will face strong opposition from Poland’s European U18 champion and Paris 2024 Olympian Anstaszja Kus and Mette Baas who smashed her Finnish 400m record at the Nordenkampen with 51.65.

All eyes will be on Femke Bol as she makes her highly anticipated 800m debut on a track which holds many fond memories for the three-time European Athlete of the Year.
Bol won the 400m on this track at five successive editions of this meeting between 2020-2024, breaking the 50 second-barrier indoors for the first time in 2023 with 49.96.
At least three world champions will be competing in Metz. Aside from Bol, world 100m hurdles champion Ditaji Kambundji has been confirmed for the 60m hurdles along with 2022 European champion Pia Skrzyszowska while world indoor and outdoor champion Mattia Furlani will be in action in the long jump.

European indoor silver medallist Henriette Jaeger will be in action in the 400m while Angelica Moser and Tina Sutej are due to go head-to-head in a repeat of the pole vault final from the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn where they won gold and silver respectively.

The cream of European club cross country running will compete in this annual championships across senior, U20 and relay disciplines.
A high-quality field will assemble, including SPAR European Cross Country Championships men's winner Thierry Ndikumwenayo (ESP), world 1500m champion Issac Nader (POR) and double European indoor medallist Salome Afonso (POR).
Sparkassen Indoor Meeting Dortmund (World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze)

Poland’s Ewa Swoboda is due to take to the track in what promises to be a fast women’s 60m.
The line-up also features Hungary’s Boglarka Takacs, who defeated Swoboda in the 100m at the European Athletics Team Championships last year, Brits Mabel Akande and Imani-Lara Lansiquot and Rebekka Haase, who anchored Germany to bronze in the 4x100m at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Takacs is also due to compete in the 200m against in-form Swede Julia Henriksson, who won a 60/200m double at the Nordenkampen last weekend, and Germany’s Jessica-Bianca Wessolly.
Norway’s European U20 1500m and 3000m champion Hakon Moe Berg is back in action in the 1500m while Belgium’s Jonathan Sacoor is due to take to his blocks in the 400m against German champion Jean Paul Bredau.
