Reigning world indoor champion Amber Anning set a world lead of 50.51 in the 400m at the Woo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Saturday (7).

Anning's winning time and world lead was the second fastest time of her career indoors behind her 50.43 clocking which dates back to her breakthrough season in 2024 when she made the Olympic 400m final and broke Christine Ohuruogu's long-standing British outdoor 400m record of 49.29.

The 25-year-old is set to return to Europe by competing at the UK Athletics Indoor Championships in Birmingham next weekend (14-15) on the road to the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy-Pomorze from 20-22 March.
