World indoor pole vault champion Molly Caudery opened her outdoor season with a best clearance of 4.61m at the Loughborough International on Sunday (17).
At an event that traditionally starts the British summer track and field season, Caudery was a little rusty, taking three efforts to clear 4.45m to win the competition.
She then took two attempts to clear 4.61m, before three failures at 4.70m. Twice world heptathlon gold medallist Katarina Johnson-Thompson was also making her season debut and threw 12.97m in the women’s shot.
