Olympic champion and world record-holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh stayed on course for her third successive title by easing through the women’s high jump qualifying round at the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships on Thursday (13).

The Ukrainian icon was the last to enter the competition and with first time clearances at 1.88m and then at 1.91m, she booked her place in Saturday’s (15) final.
She will be joined there by world silver medallist Maria Zodzik of Poland, who had first-time clearances at 1.80m, 1.84m, 1.88m and 1.91m to progress. European silver medallist and world bronze medallist Angelina Topic of Serbia is also through after posting an identically flawless card to Zodzik.
