European and World Athlete of the Year Armand Duplantis has mapped out his competition plans for the upcoming indoor season.
Duplantis will be targeting his fourth successive pole vault title at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujway Pomorze from 20-22 March. The championships will be held in the Arena Torun where Duplantis broke the world record for the first time in 2020 with a 6.17m clearance.
Ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Championships, Duplantis is planning to vault again at the All-Star Perche in Clermont-Ferrand on 22 February, a meeting where he has broken the world record on two occasions, before headlining his home meeting, the Mondo Classic in Uppsala on 12 March.
Duplantis is also targeting a fourth title at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham from 10-16 August and the 26-year-old hinted that he would like to have another attempt at the world record.
"I guess I haven't broken the world record at the European Championships? It’s just up to me to make sure that I'm in the right shape and that I'm ready to do it when it comes time. But I'm excited for Birmingham," said Duplantis in a recent interview.
Duplantis will also compete at the World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest in September. He cleared a world record of 6.29m in Budapest last summer ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo where Duplantis collected a hat-trick of titles with his 14th world record of 6.30m.
