With just less than three months to go until the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships, momentum is building towards the showpiece event of the European sporting summer.
The #OwnYourMoment campaign will accelerate international interest in Birmingham 2026 which will welcome some of the world’s greatest athletes on 10-16 August, including pole vault phenomenon Mondo Duplantis, British superstar Keely Hodgkinson and Dutch icon Femke Broeders-Bol.
To celebrate the countdown, the Birmingham 2026 anthem ‘Own Your Moment’ performed by Abi Flynn and written by Grace Davies was launched on Monday (11).
Abi will also sing during the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships, so fans will have the opportunity to see ‘Own Your Moment’ performed live.
Huge summer
In the build up to the European Athletics Championships, fans of the sport can also look forward to:
- A new vodcast series presented by Winter Olympian and international sprinter Mica Moore
- Collaborations with 3xEuropean gold medallist Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (aka Nitro from BBC’s Gladiators) and Birmingham-based sports teams, including Birmingham City FC
- Relaunch of the European Athletics App
- Launch of the European Athletics Predictor Game – where fans can predict the outcome of every final at Birmingham 2026 to win some incredible prizes
It all leads towards the thrilling climax at the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships – a momentous celebration of sport this summer.
