Birmingham 2026 organisers unveiled the official championship medals for this summer’s European Athletics Championships on Wednesday (17).
More than 1,600 athletes from 48 nations will compete for glory in what marks the first time in the event’s 93-year history that the Championships will be staged in the UK - a landmark moment and a rare opportunity for British fans to witness Europe’s finest athletes in action at Alexander Stadium from 10-16 August.
With gold, silver and bronze medals to be decided across seven electrifying evening sessions, and the weekend's road events, fans can expect unforgettable moments and history-making performances under the floodlights in Birmingham.
Medal Design
The Championship medal features a clean, refined design, crafted from anodised aluminium with a brass centre plated in Birmingham’s renowned Jewellery Quarter.
The outer ring symbolises the amphitheatre of supporters inside Alexander Stadium, capturing the energy and atmosphere that surrounds the athletes on the track and field. The centre brand represents the few who will win the ultimate podium prize.
The reverse design brings together a collage inspired by Birmingham’s rich culture, heritage and iconic architecture - a tribute to the host city.
Europe’s biggest stars are expected to target Birmingham as a key moment in their 2026 summer ambitions, offering fans a truly unmissable chance to witness world-class performances on home soil.
