Athletics fans have raced to secure their seats for the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships, with the ticket pre-sale period exceeding all projections and early demand signalling a truly unmissable event next summer.

More than 86,000 tickets have already been snapped up by fans including 8000 family-groups during the priority window, making Birmingham 2026 one of the most family-friendly major championships on record.

Sessions featuring finals in the women’s 800m and 1500m, men’s 1500m and the 4x100m and 4x400m relays are close to selling out, as fans from across the UK, Europe, and around the world ensured they’ll be part of a sporting spectacle at the iconic Alexander Stadium from 10-16 August 2026.

The remaining availability is expected to go fast when general sale opens at 10am tomorrow (Wednesday 10th September.) With fans from more than 40 countries securing their seats, tickets for Birmingham26 are the hottest ticket in the global sport next summer. Phenomenal response

With 13 sessions across seven packed days, the Championships will see over 1600 athletes from 48 nations compete for glory. With 44 gold medals to be won across the seven evening sessions, fans will see history being made under the floodlights. Many of Europe’s biggest names are expected to target their 2026 summer ambitions at Birmingham — making this a superb chance for fans to witness world-class performances on home soil.

General sale opens 10am tomorrow – and demand is high!

Fans who missed out on the priority window are urged to act quickly once general sale opens. Tickets start from just £5 for children and £10 for adults, with limited availability remaining for weekend evening sessions.
