  • Bol could compete in 800m in February or March, reveals coach

Twice 400m hurdles world champion Femke Bol may compete in a few indoor races in February or March over 800m but is “unlikely” to compete over her new race distance at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze (Torun) on March 20-22.

The news is according to an interview with Dutch media title De Telegraaf, with Bol’s coach Laurent Meuwly.

In the interview, he reveals that Bol’s endurance is improving significantly and she is adapting well to the training demands of the transition to 800m, launched in earnest at a training camp in Stellenbosch, South Africa.

As world record holder for the 400m indoors (49.17), she will not compete individually at the World Athletics Indoor Championships, but may yet race the 4x400m relay, a title she anchored the Dutch women’s team to at Glasgow 2024, Meuwly suggested.

He also confirmed Bol would race over 800m in the 2026 Diamond League.
