Coaches and athletes attending next month’s European Cup 10,000m in Antalya, Türkiye are invited to take part in a special European Distance Running Workshop, which will be organised with the support of the IAAF and EAA on 14 April.
The half-day workshop, entitled “Raising the Standard of European Distance Runners”, will feature presentations by highly regarded Italian coach Renato Canova and other experts, including top-class performers from the past. The focus of the discussions will be on ideas for revitalising distance running in Europe and increasing the competitiveness of European distance runners on the world stage.
Up to 50 coaches from more that 15 countries are expected to take part. The workshop language will be English and simultaneous translation into Russian will be provided by the IAAF Regional Development Centre Moscow.
EAA Member Federations who are not participating in the European Cup 10,000m are also welcome to send coaches to the workshop. Interested federations may contact Elio Locatelli elio@iaaf.org or Bill Glad bill.glad@european-athletics.org for further details.
