The Russian national pole vault coach and Olympic silver medallist Rodion Gataullin has confirmed that he will speak at the 2nd European Pole Vault Conference, entitled “Peaking Performance”, in Cologne 17-19 March.
The conference, which will be staged at the German Sport University in Cologne, is expected to attract more than 200 participants from across Europe and beyond.
“We are delighted that Rodion will be able to join us this year,” says conference organiser Wolfgang Ritzdorf, “the addition of his knowledge and experience to our already incredible line-up of speakers will make our programme the equivalent of a seven-metre vault”.
Among the well-known coaches and top jumpers also scheduled to appear are Vitaly Petrov (RUS), the former coach of world record holder Sergey Bubka, Greg Hull (USA), coach of Olympic champions Nick Hysong and Tracy Dragila, German national pole vault coaches Herbert Czingon and Jörn Elberdig and Tim Lobinger (GER), the 2003 World Indoor Champion.
The presentations will also include the findings from the IAAF biomechanical research project conducted during the 2005 World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki.
The conference, which is supported by the German Athletics Federation (DLV), will be jointly organised by the German Sport university’s Institute for Motor Control and Movement Technique and Institute for Biomechanics.
Registration fees for the conference will be € 160 for coaches and € 100 for athletes. Coaches who are members of the European Athletics Coaches Association will receive a € 30 discount).
