The European Athletics Council decided on Eskilstuna as the host city for the 2015 European Athletics Junior Championships at its meeting in Berlin in May 2013.
The sole bidder presented its candidature at the 137th European Athletics Council meeting in Berlin.
European Athletics President Hansjörg Wirz said,“We have been assured by the presentation made today that this important event will be organised to the high level that we have come to expect from Sweden. The country has hosted the European Athletics Championships and, more recently, the European Athletics Indoor Championships, and we are pleased they will now host another major European Athletics event in 2015.” said President Wirz.
It will be the 23rd edition of the event and the first time it will be held in Sweden.
