Reigning European champion Victoria Hudson, European U23 champion Enzo Diessl and European and Olympic medallist Lukas Weisshaidinger to compete at Raiffeisen Austrian Open.

The trio of Austrian talent will take to the track for the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meet on 1 July in front of their home crowd.

Hudson is yet to compete this year, but will be looking to retain her javelin European title from Rome after throwing a PB of 67.76m last year.

Joining her in Eisenstadt is a rising star in Diessl, with the 110m hurdler having previously taken gold at the European U20 championships before also winning the Bergen 2025 European Athletics U23 Championships at just 21-years-old.

He is also yet to compete outdoors this year, but during the indoor season he lowered his 60m hurdles PB by 0.04 to 7.60 so could be on form to impress even further in 2026.

Completing the current star line up is Weisshaidinger, who took bronze at the 2021 Olympics, alongside a silver and bronze at the 2024 and 2018 European championships in discus.

In 2025 Weisshaidinger threw a best of 67.03m and hasn’t surpassed the 70m mark since 2023 when he threw 70.68m.

So this year as we approach the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships, Weisshaidinger will be looking to make his third consecutive podium, but will have to overcome some of Europe’s best discus throwers of all time to do so.
