Jason Joseph and Ditaji Kambundji sped to fast times in the 60m hurdles on the second day of the Swiss Indoor Championships in St. Gallen on Sunday (23).
Reigning European indoor champion Joseph stormed to victory in the men’s 60m hurdles final in 7.45 - just 0.04 shy of his national record - ahead of world indoor heptathlon champion Simon Ehammer in 7.75.
In the women’s 60m hurdles final, two-time European outdoor medallist Kambundji stormed to victory in 7.82, missing her Swiss record by a mere two-hundredths.
Behind Kambundji, 2022 European heptathlon bronze medallist Annik Kalin finished an excellent second in another lifetime best of 7.92 to conclude a brilliant weekend.
On the first day of the championships, Kalin clocked a 7.27 lifetime best to make the 60m final where she finished seventh and also won the long jump with 6.68m.
European outdoor champion Angelica Moser cleared 4.72m in the pole vault.
Elsewhere, European 10,000m champion Dominic Lobalu dropped down in distance to win the 1500m in 3:48.63 and two-time European U20 champion Audrey Werro edged out Lore Hoffmann in the 800m - 2:01.13 to 2:01.25.
