  • Femke Bol to open outdoor season at Rabat Diamond League

Femke Bol will make her first outing of the outdoor season at the Rabat Diamond League on 25 May.

The Dutch athlete, who will strive to defend her women’s 400m hurdles title in World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September, will be aiming for a fifth successive Diamond League title in her favoured event.

Bol had a very brief indoor season, emerging from winter training to anchor the Netherlands to women’s 4x400m and mixed 4x400m gold at the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships.

An eventful year of records and medals

It followed an eventful 2024, which kicked off with her breaking the women’s short track 400m record (49.17) in winning gold at the Glasgow World Athletics Indoor Championships before adding women’s 4x400m gold.

She won 400m hurdles gold at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships as well as women’s 4x400m gold and mixed 4x400m bronze. She set a new European record of 50.95 for the 400m hurdles at a meeting in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

She was disappointed to win bronze in the 400m hurdles at the Paris Olympics, but also had a mixed 4x400m gold and women’s 4x400m silver to savour. Still only 25, she has 25 Diamond League race wins to her name.
