European Athletics has formally ratified five European records in April 2026.

Men's European road 5km record

12:51 - Jimmy Gressier (FRA) 

World 10,000m champion Jimmy Gressier shattered his European 5km record in Lille on 4 April. Gressier motored to victory in 12:51, closing with a final kilometre of 2:26 to shave six seconds from his European record which he set in Lille last year.

Gressier also moves to third on the world all-time 5km list, just behind Berihu Aregawi's world record of 12:49 which dates back to 2021.

Women's European road 10km (mixed) record

30:07 - Megan Keith (GBR)

European 10,000m bronze medallist Megan Keith eclipsed compatriot Eilish McColgan’s European 10km record by one second with a 30:07 clocking in Castellon on 22 February.

Keith’s time has since been broken by Slovenia’s Klara Lukan who clocked 29:50 in Laredo, a mark which is currently undergoing official ratification procedures.

Men's European U23 60m short track record

6.53 - Hristo Iliev (BUL)

Hristo Iliev broke the European U23 short track record in the 60m with a 6.53 clocking, also a national record, for victory at the Balkan Indoor Championships in Belgrade on 21 February.

Women's European U23 short track 800m record

1:56.64 - Audrey Werro (SUI)

Audrey Werro held onto the coat-tails of Keely Hodgkinson for as long as she could and the Swiss was rewarded with a silver medal in the 800m at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun in a European U23 short track record of 1:56.64.

Her time was also under the previous championship record of 1:56.90.

Women's European U23 short track 1500m record

4:08.12 - Adele Gay (FRA)

European U23 1500m silver medallist Adele Gay clocked a European U23 short track record of 4:08.12 in Luxembourg on 18 January.
