Megan Keith’s finishing time of 30:07 at the Facsa Castellón 10K on 22 February has been officially ratified as a European women’s 10km road record in a mixed race. British Athletics has been formally notified by European Athletics.
The 23-year-old British runner has enjoyed an excellent few months, including winning silver behind Nadia Battocletti at the Lagoa 2025 SPAR European Cross Country Championships and placing third at the New York Half Marathon in 67:13 on her debut over the distance.
Her run in Castellón came during a frantic seven-week period that saw the European record reset three times: first by Belgium’s Jana Van Lent in Nice (30:10 on 4 January), then by Great Britain’s Eilish McColgan in Valencia (30:08 on 11 January), before Keith shaved off a further second in eastern Spain.
The record has also survived a late-season attempt by Battocletti, who clocked 30:08 at the Urban Trail de Lille on Saturday (4).
Keith, who won 10,000m bronze at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships, has a busy track season ahead, including the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she will represent Scotland.
