Armand Duplantis cleared a world record of 6.29m at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial in Budapest, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting, on 12 August.
Returning to the stadium in which he defended his world title two years ago, Duplantis vaulted 6.29m on his second attempt to break the world record for the 13th time, adding one centimetre to the record which he set in front of his home fans in Stockholm in June.
This was the third time Duplantis has broken the world this year having also cleared 6.27m during the indoor season in Clermont-Ferrand.
The Swede, who is unbeaten in 32 competitions, will be targeting his third successive world title in Tokyo next month, a feat which has only been achieved by Sergey Bubka who won six world titles between 1983 and 1987.
In-form Greek Emmanouil Karalis also surpassed the six metre-barrier again. Fresh from clearing 6.08m at the Greek Championships, Karalis cleared 6.02m to finish second to Duplantis - his eighth 6.00m-plus vault in 2025.

Bence Halasz produced a mighty throw of 83.18m in the hammer on home soil for victory over reigning world and Olympic champion Ethan Katzberg from Canada (81.88m) and Ukraine's Mykhaylo Kokhan (80.84m).
