Registration for this weekend’s International Festival of Athletics Coaching (IFAC) in Rome is still open but only a few places for international participants remain, according to the festival sponsors, the European Athletics Coaches Association and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI).
The programme, which is part of the European Athletics Coaching Summit series and takes place at CONI’s Acquacetosa Olympic Training Centre, will focus on cross sports learning and networking and will feature internationally revered coaches including Marcello Lippi from football and Mauro Berruto from volleyball.
The two will speak on “The Coach as Leader & Manager” (Lippi) and “Technology: a Critical Coaching Instrument” after the opening keynote presentation “Characteristics of Serial Winning Coaches” by Sergio Lara Bercial from Leeds Beckett University and the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE).
“We have reached our participation target but I don’t want to keep any athletics coaches who are really interested away,” said festival organiser Elio Locatelli. “Any coach from outside Italy who is serious about improving should be with us this weekend, so I will find a way to welcome them.”
