European 10,000m champion Dominic Lobalu has been named in the Switzerland team for the European Running Championships in Brussels-Leuven on 12-13 April.

He will race in the men’s 10km and heads a six-strong Swiss team that also includes Jonas Raess, 2019 gold medallist in the men’s 5000m at the Universiade.

Lobalu, who won 10,000m gold on the track in Rome last summer, is the second fastest European in history on the roads over 10km. He also ducked under the previous European record with 26:54 in Valencia in mid-January in a race won by Sweden's Andreas Almgren in 26:53.
